AMC Deploys Traffic Marshal Mannequins at Diversions, Roadwork Sites to Enhance Monsoon Safety
June 23, 2026
Ahmedabad: In a bid to improve road safety during the monsoon and provide motorists with advance information about diversions and hazardous locations, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has launched a new initiative involving the deployment of traffic marshal mannequins across the city.
As part of the initiative, traffic marshal mannequins will be placed at roadwork sites, diversion points, and accident-prone locations during the rainy season to alert and guide motorists. The aim is to help commuters navigate safely through areas affected by ongoing infrastructure works and temporary traffic changes.
In the first phase, four traffic marshal mannequins have been installed at roadwork sites in the Panchvati and Panjrapol areas. These mannequins, equipped with warning and diversion signs, will help motorists identify route changes in advance and contribute to smoother traffic movement. The measure is expected to reduce confusion caused by sudden diversions and improve overall traffic management.
The civic body’s objective is not only to ensure smooth traffic flow but also to minimize the risk of accidents during the monsoon. By providing timely warnings and guidance, the traffic marshal mannequins are expected to help motorists exercise greater caution while passing through work zones and hazardous stretches. DeshGujarat
