Ahmedabad Plasma Adulteration Scam: Detailed Probe Underway; No One Will Be Spared: Health Minister

Ahmedabad: After the blood plasma adulteration and manipulation scam was busted in the Changodar area of Ahmedabad district, Health Minister Praful Pansheriya said that no person or entity involved in compromising patients’ health would be spared, and strict legal action would be taken against those found guilty.

The Health Minister said a detailed investigation has been initiated into the entire incident. The role of those involved in the scam is being probed by the police and other relevant agencies. The state government, he said, is fully committed to ensuring patient safety and maintaining the quality of healthcare services.

Pansheriya described the adulteration of life-saving materials such as blood plasma as an extremely serious and inhumane act. He said such activities erode public trust in the healthcare system, and therefore the government is adopting a zero-tolerance approach in the matter.

He further said that necessary instructions have been issued to maintain strict vigilance over the functioning of blood banks, plasma collection centres and related units across the state. The monitoring and control mechanism will be further strengthened to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The Health Minister expressed confidence that the ongoing investigation would bring all facts related to the scam to light and that action would be taken against all those responsible in accordance with the law.

“No one who tampers with the health of patients will be spared. Strict action will be taken against those responsible through a transparent and impartial investigation,” the minister said.
