Ahmedabad: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is planning to install a statue of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, the country’s ardent nationalist leader and founder of the Jana Sangh, at the Sabarmati Riverfront. The announcement was made by Kamlesh Patel, Chairman of the AMC’s Standing Committee, during a conversation with the media after the weekly Standing Committee meeting.

Addressing the media, Patel said, “The upcoming 6th of July is the birthday of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee. He made a very special contribution to the development of the country. In order to inspire citizens through his work, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has planned to install a large statue of the respected Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.”

He further stated that the Municipal Commissioner has been instructed to take the necessary steps to move the project forward. DeshGujarat
