Ahmedabad: As part of its ongoing campaign against traffic obstructions and unauthorized constructions in the city, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Tuesday took action to remove a newly constructed unauthorized religious structure linked to Mariyam Masjid near Sanand Crossing in the Sarkhej area. Tight police security was deployed to prevent any untoward incident during the demolition drive.

According to the AMC, the religious structure had been erected without permission near Sanand Crossing in Sarkhej Ward of the South West Zone. After completing the legal process, the corporation’s Estate Department team carried out the demolition in the presence of the police.
Since Sanand Crossing is an important junction for vehicles travelling towards Saurashtra and Central Gujarat, illegal encroachments on both sides of the road were creating traffic and road safety concerns. Obstructive encroachments on roads, footpaths and government land were also removed as part of the campaign. DeshGujarat
