Gandhinagar: 1997 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Gujarat cadre, Anupam Singh Gehlaut has become appointed as new City Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad, the largest and the main city of Gujarat. Gehlaut is currently police commissioner of Surat city, the second largest city of Gujarat. The post of city police commissioner of Ahmedabad is vacant as the outgoing Commissioner is appointed as the State Police Chief (Director General of Gujarat Police).  Gahlaut is considered pro-people and strict senior cop with vast experience across the districts and cities of Gujarat.
