Anupam Singh Gahlaut Joins Office as Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad City

Ahmedabad: 1997-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Gujarat cadre, Anupam Singh Gehlaut, on Saturday took over office as the Ahmedabad City Police Commissioner, following his appointment earlier this month.

Gehlaut previously served as the Police Commissioner of Surat, Gujarat’s second-largest city. He was transferred to Ahmedabad after the post of Ahmedabad City Police Commissioner fell vacant following the appointment of outgoing Commissioner G.S. Malik as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Gujarat.
Known as a people-friendly yet strict officer, Gehlaut has extensive policing experience across several districts and major cities of Gujarat. With this appointment, he achieves the distinction of serving as the Police Commissioner in four of the state’s largest cities: Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot. DeshGujarat
