July 05, 2026
Ahmedabad: Construction of the flyover at Vadaj Junction in the city’s West Zone is progressing, with a key phase of the project currently under way. The launch of a 41-metre-long girder for the span between piers PG-1 and GP-3 on the carriageway towards Gandhi Ashram began on the night of July 3.
The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) had set a two-day deadline for the operation. According to the civic body, the girder launching work is expected to be completed by the night of July 5. Officials said completion of this phase will mark a major milestone in the project and help keep the overall construction on track for completion within the stipulated timeline.
The girder launching is being carried out only during night hours, with one side of the road closed to facilitate the work. Normal traffic movement is being maintained during the day.
An AMC official said the project has been planned with the required technical measures to ensure smooth and systematic execution. The civic body is aiming to complete the girder launching within the scheduled timeframe to maintain the pace of construction. DeshGujarat
