Where did it rain in Gujarat? Here’s 24-hour rainfall data

Gandhinagar: Clouds opened up with heavy rain across South Gujarat during the 24-hour period ending at 6 am today. According to data released by the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC), the highest rainfall of 18.19 inches was recorded in Palsana taluka of Surat district. This was followed by 17.40 inches in Kamrej, 15.28 inches in Navsari, 14.09 inches in Surat city, 12.68 inches in Kaprada of Valsad, and 11.02 inches in Jalalpore.
Heavy rainfall was mainly concentrated in Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, and Dang districts. Bardoli in Surat district received 9.37 inches, Ambika area 9.25 inches, and Mahuva 8.86 inches, while Dolwan in Tapi district received 8.90 inches, Valod 7.44 inches, and Vyara 6.65 inches. Ahwa in Dang district received 8.46 inches, and Subir 7.76 inches.
Gandevi in Navsari district received 7.72 inches, Chikhli 7.36 inches, Vansda 5.67 inches, and Khergam 5.31 inches, while Nanapondha in Valsad district received 6.38 inches, Dharampur 5.98 inches, Pardi 4.92 inches, and Valsad city 4.02 inches. Umarpada in Surat district received 6.34 inches of rain, Choryasi 6.26 inches, and Mandvi 4.88 inches.
In addition, Netrang in Bharuch district received 3.66 inches, Nandod in Narmada district received 3.58 inches, Dehgam in Gandhinagar district received 3.50 inches, and several other talukas across the state received between 1 and 3 inches of rain. The incessant rains have caused waterlogging in many low-lying areas of South Gujarat, while rivers and reservoirs are receiving significant inflows of fresh water.
In all, 195 talukas recorded rainfall during the 24-hour period ending at 6 am today, but only 50 of them received more than 2 inches of rain.
