24-Hour Rainfall Data from Gujarat: Valsad District Tops Chart with 15 Inches+ Downpour

Valsad: During the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today, South Gujarat received extremely heavy to very heavy rainfall. The highest rainfall was recorded in Kaprada taluka of Valsad district at 15.63 inches (397 mm). The downpour caused waterlogging in several areas, while rivers and drains swelled.

As per the data shared by the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), Nanapondha in Valsad district recorded 11.02 inches of rain, followed by Chikhli in Navsari district with 9.61 inches, Pardi in Valsad with 9.37 inches, Vansda in Navsari with 9.25 inches, and Valsad taluka with 8.31 inches.

Apart from this, Khergam in Navsari recorded 7.91 inches of rain, followed by Vapi in Valsad with 7.28 inches, Waghai in Dang with 7.20 inches, and Dharampur in Valsad with 6.77 inches.

Heavy rainfall was also recorded in Surat district. Bardoli received 5.39 inches, Palsana 4.69 inches, Surat city 4.25 inches, Ambika 4.21 inches, Mahuva 3.54 inches, Umarpada 3.23 inches, Olpad 2.83 inches, Choryasi 2.72 inches, Kamrej 2.40 inches, Mangrol 2.13 inches, Areth 1.81 inches, and Mandvi 1.61 inches.

In Navsari district, Gandevi received 4.72 inches of rain, Navsari 3.54 inches, and Jalalpore 3.46 inches.

In Dang district, Ahwa received 5.04 inches of rain, while Subir recorded 4.13 inches.

In Tapi district, Dolwan received 3.90 inches of rain, Ukai 3.03 inches, Vyara 2.72 inches, Valod 2.52 inches, Songadh 2.36 inches, while Uchchhal, Kukarmunda, and Nizar received 1.10 inches, 0.39 inches, and 0.39 inches of rain, respectively.

In Bharuch district, Hansot received 2.83 inches of rain, Walia 1.89 inches, Ankleshwar 1.42 inches, Bharuch 1.02 inches, and Netrang 0.91 inches.

Vadodara city received 1.46 inches of rain, Karjan 0.63 inches, while Padra and Vaghodia received 0.47 inches and 0.35 inches, respectively.

Light to moderate rain was also recorded in other parts of the state. In Ahmedabad district, Dhandhuka received 0.55 inches of rain, Bavla 0.31 inches, while Ahmedabad city, Dholka, and Dholera received 0.12 inches each.

Overall, 173 talukas across the state received rainfall during the 24-hour period ending at 6 am today. Of these, 32 talukas recorded more than 2 inches of rain, most of them in South Gujarat.
