Finding Parking in Ahmedabad Gets Easier as AMC Links 160 AmdaPark Parking Locations to Google Maps
July 30, 2026
Ahmedabad: In a move aimed at making parking easier and improving traffic management, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has integrated around 160 public parking locations across the city with Google Maps.
The mapped locations include pay-and-park facilities, smart parking sites, multi-level parking buildings and on-street parking spaces. The initiative, launched under the Digital India and Smart City Mission, will help both residents and visitors easily locate parking spots and navigate to them using Google Maps.
With the integration, motorists can find the nearest parking facility, get directions and avoid driving around in search of parking, helping reduce traffic congestion while saving time and fuel.
The facility has also been integrated with AMC’s AmdaPark app, which allows users to check parking locations, view parking availability, make advance bookings and pay digitally.
AMC has also opened the AmdaPark platform to private property owners and commercial establishments such as malls, hospitals, multiplexes and hotels. Those offering free parking to the public will continue to be eligible for a 100% property tax exemption on the parking area, as per the corporation’s existing policy.
Commercial units and private property owners opting to charge for parking can also register on the AmdaPark app by updating their parking capacity, charges and real-time availability. However, they will be allowed to charge only up to the maximum parking rates approved by AMC for their respective areas. The civic body said the move will increase the city’s available parking capacity, bring greater transparency and ensure uniform parking charges.
The corporation has urged citizens to make use of the digital parking facility and appealed to commercial establishments and private property owners to join the AmdaPark platform. It added that more parking locations will be integrated into the system in the coming months based on public feedback. DeshGujarat
