Hindu Woman Beaten to Death at Bhavnagar ST Bus Stand; Live-in Partner Held

Bhavnagar: A Hindu woman was allegedly beaten to death in public at Bhavnagar’s main ST bus stand, triggering shock and outrage in the city. The deceased has been identified as Kajalben Baraiya. CCTV footage of the assault has surfaced, showing the accused, identified as Faizal alias Khatki, repeatedly assaulting the woman.

According to preliminary information, Kajal and Faizal had been in a live-in relationship for some time. The two reportedly had frequent disputes, and police are investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal assault.

The CCTV footage shows Faizal allegedly attacking Kajal at the busy bus stand and repeatedly hitting her. The assault left her critically injured. She was rushed to Sir T. Hospital in a 108 ambulance, where she later died during treatment.

According to the information available, Faizal had recently been released from jail after being arrested in a case involving physical assault. Kajal had reportedly helped arrange his bail. It is also learnt that Faizal later suspected Kajal of having a relationship with his friend Ravi, which allegedly led to the confrontation at the bus stand.

The incident has raised questions over the lack of immediate intervention by people present at the crowded bus stand. Police have registered a murder case and are examining the CCTV footage and other evidence as part of the investigation.

Police are also probing the nature of the relationship between Kajal and Faizal and the events that preceded the assault.
