Insects Found in Malai Lassi at Farki Outlet in Ahmedabad; Video Goes Viral

Ahmedabad: A customer allegedly found insects coming out of a packed Malai Lassi purchased from a Farki outlet near Krishnabagh in the Maninagar area. A video recorded by the customer, Vraj Barot, showing insects in the lassi has since gone viral on social media.

According to Barot, he and his friend visited the Farki outlet in Maninagar on the evening of September 4 and ordered Malai Lassi. After drinking around four to five spoonfuls, he noticed insects coming out of the lassi when he took another spoonful.

Barot then complained to the outlet staff and manager. He said the staff initially offered to refund the money, but he refused, saying that the issue was not about the money but about food safety.

The staff reportedly told him that the insects might have fallen into the lassi from above. Barot questioned this explanation, saying that if they had fallen from above, they would have remained on the surface rather than appearing from the bottom after he had already consumed some of the lassi.

Barot then asked to speak to the manager. According to him, the manager said the insects must have entered the lassi “by mistake.”

The customer did not, however, lodge a direct complaint with the AMC Food Department. The video of the incident was later shared on social media, following which the civic body said it was investigating the matter.

Following the incident, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) Food Department said it was looking into the matter. Food Department Officer Dr. Tejas Shah said, “We are investigating the matter.” DeshGujarat
