55 PGs, hostels inspected in Ahmedabad; none found prima facie dangerous, says AMC

Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has launched a special inspection drive to assess the structural safety of paying guest (PG) accommodations, hostels and similar residential facilities across the city as a preventive measure, a press release said.

On Tuesday, AMC teams from five zones inspected 55 units and carried out preliminary assessments of their structural stability. According to the civic body, none of the 55 structures was found to be in a prima facie dangerous condition.

During the inspections, officials assessed the structures at the primary level and checked for visible signs indicating potential structural danger.

The civic body said the inspection campaign will continue in the coming days, with a plan to cover all PGs, hostels and similar establishments across Ahmedabad.

The drive is aimed at identifying potential structural safety risks at an early stage and ensuring a safe environment for residents. DeshGujarat
