Two illegal dargahs on reserved forest land in Kutch razed

Kutch: The forest department on Saturday removed illegal religious structures from the Mirjapar Reserve Forest in Kutch’s Bhuj West Range, clearing around 3,000 square metres of forest land estimated to be worth ₹15 crore.

According to forest officials, the cleared encroachments included permanent structures constructed in the names of the Hazrat Mishkinsa Wali Dargah and Hazrat Mamusai Dargah, along with other unauthorised structures near ITI College inside the Mirjapar forest.

Officials said notices had previously been issued to those occupying the land illegally. After the notice period expired, the department carried out the demolition and eviction drive in accordance with statutory procedures and restored possession of the land to the forest department.

The anti-encroachment operation was conducted under the guidance of Kutch Forest Circle Conservator of Forests Dhiraj Mittal and Deputy Conservator of Forests Harsh Thakkar. DeshGujarat
