AMC seals seven firecracker shops

Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Monday sealed seven firecracker shops near Delhi Darwaza during an inspection drive conducted by its Central Zone estate department.
The inspections were carried out following directions from the AMC standing committee chairman after the issue was raised at a recent committee meeting. While firecracker shops in the Kalupur area had been sealed earlier, no similar action had been taken in other parts of the zone.
The owners of the sealed shops have been asked to submit documents proving compliance with regulations, including building-use (BU) permission.
On September 30, the Central Zone estate department launched inspections of seasonal shops along the stretch from Kalupur Darwaza to Kalupur Tower. During the drive, 30 firecracker shops were sealed for allegedly operating illegally. DeshGujarat
