AMC Seals Hocco Ice Cream and 7 Other Shops Near Law Garden

Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed nine commercial establishments and collected ₹2.10 lakh in administrative charges during a three-day drive against littering, public nuisance and the use of banned plastic in the West Zone.

The AMC’s Solid Waste Management Department inspected 261 units during daytime and nighttime operations across the zone. It issued notices to 184 units for violations related to littering and banned plastic and seized 5.8 kg of prohibited plastic.

Of the total amount collected, ₹1.20 lakh came from establishments penalised for littering and public nuisance, while ₹90,000 was collected for violations involving banned plastic.

Eight of the nine sealed establishments were located at Alpha Bazaar near Law Garden in Navrangpura. They include Hocco Ice Cream, 99 Shop, Flourish, Lucky Special, Meera Beauty Bazaar, The Me Shop, NVR Collection and Dada Sandwich. The ninth establishment, Om Sales, is located in Akash Darshan Society on Stadium Road in Motera, Sabarmati.

The civic body said it is also conducting awareness activities in residential and commercial areas, urging people to segregate waste, hand it over to AMC collection vehicles and avoid littering in public spaces. It added that enforcement drives against such violations would continue. DeshGujarat
