October 29, 2026
Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated light rain and thundershowers in parts of Gujarat over the next three days, till October 31, 2026, while dry weather is likely to prevail across the state from November 1 onwards.
According to the IMD’s weather bulletin issued on October 29, isolated light rain and thundershowers are likely in Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Mahisagar, Dang, Navsari and Valsad districts, as well as in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, till the morning of October 30. Dry weather is expected in the remaining districts of Gujarat, across Saurashtra-Kutch and in Diu.
On October 30, the possibility of isolated light rain and thundershowers is expected to persist in Dang, Tapi, Navsari and Valsad in South Gujarat, as well as in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli. In Saurashtra, Amreli and Bhavnagar districts may also receive light rain. The remaining districts of South Gujarat and Saurashtra, along with North Gujarat, Kutch and Diu, are likely to experience dry weather.
The forecast indicates that isolated light rain or thundershowers may continue on October 31 in Navsari and Valsad districts of South Gujarat, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Amreli and Bhavnagar districts of Saurashtra.
However, the IMD has forecast dry weather across Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch, Diu, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli from November 1 to November 5. No weather warnings have been issued for any district during the seven-day forecast period.
Temperatures Likely to Decline by 2-3°C
The IMD has forecast a gradual fall of 2-3 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures across the region over the next three days, followed by a gradual rise of 2-3 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures are likely to remain largely unchanged during the next seven days.
Ahmedabad is expected to experience partly cloudy skies, with the maximum temperature likely to reach 35°C and the minimum temperature around 22°C until the morning of October 30.
Cyclonic System Weakens Over Central India
The IMD’s forecast comes as the remnants of Cyclonic Storm Arnab continue to weaken over central India. The system, which had weakened from a severe cyclonic storm into a cyclonic storm on October 28, subsequently weakened into a deep depression and then a depression over areas covering south Chhattisgarh and adjoining south Odisha.
As of 8:30 am on October 29, the system was centred over the same region and was moving nearly northwards. It is likely to weaken further into a well-marked low-pressure area over north Chhattisgarh and adjoining northwest Odisha by the evening of October 29.
Northeasterly to easterly winds are prevailing at lower levels over Gujarat, according to the bulletin.
The IMD’s extended outlook for November 5 to November 7 indicates no significant change in weather conditions. DeshGujarat
