October 31, 2026
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested a 22-year-old outsourced employee of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹22,000 from an animal husbandry businessman to avoid registering a case related to his cattle.
The accused, identified as Jaydipsinh Ramsinh Rajput, worked as a Livestock Inspector (Class III) in the Corporation’s Cattle Nuisance Control Department (CNCD).
According to the ACB, Rajput had initially demanded ₹40,000 from the complainant, who is engaged in the animal husbandry business, to refrain from initiating legal action over cattle seized by the municipal corporation. He had also allegedly demanded money in the name of a Diwali festival instalment.
Following negotiations, the accused allegedly reduced the demand to ₹22,000. Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the Gandhinagar ACB and lodged a complaint.
Acting on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap on October 30. Rajput was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting the ₹22,000 bribe from the complainant on a road behind a garden in Sector 28, Gandhinagar. The entire bribe amount was recovered during the operation. DeshGujarat
