Vadodara Gas Ltd hikes CNG, PNG prices
November 02, 2026
Vadodara: Vadodara Gas Limited (VGL), a joint venture between Vadodara Municipal Corporation and GAIL Gas Limited, has raised the prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) and domestic piped natural gas (PNG) in Vadodara, with the revised rates taking effect from Sunday morning.
CNG prices in Vadodara district have increased by Rs 1.50 per kg, from Rs 89 to Rs 90.50 per kg. Domestic PNG rates have been hiked by 50 paise per standard cubic metre (SCM), from Rs 55.74 to Rs 56.24 per SCM, excluding VAT.
VGL attributed the revision to rising input gas costs and fluctuations in the dollar exchange rate. Between September 2025 and September 2026, the landed cost of regasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) increased by around 26%, while prices of domestic gas, including APM and NAPM gas, rose by approximately 19%.
The US dollar exchange rate also climbed by nearly 8% during the period, further increasing the cost of gas imports denominated in dollars, officials said.
