Monsoon seems knocking around the corner in Gujarat

With the cloudy weather in many parts of the state and knocking of Monsoon now looking imminent, temperatures across the state came down below 40 degree Celsius today while Ahmedabad registered maximum temperature of 34.4, almost four degrees below normal.
Amreli at 38.6 and Deesa at 38.5 recorded the highest and second highest maximum temperature during last 24 hours.
Meanwhile Met Department has forecast light rain and thundershowers in many parts of the state in the coming days.
As the Monsoon has advanced to states like Jharkhand, Bihar and Chhatisgarh. Gujarat is also likely to experience the first showers of the seasonal rains soon.
Ahmedabad Met Department Director Jayanta Sarkar today said that the circumstance were quite favourable and the advent of monsoon was expected in coming days.
Meanwhile, Valsad, Bharuch and some other parts of South Gujarat today experienced some showers of pre-monsoon activites while Morbi, Patan and other places saw thundershowers.
The maximum temperature at various places across the state was as following – Ahmedabad 34.4, Deesa 38.5, Vadodara 33.2, Surat 33.6, Rajkot 37.8, Bhavnagar 36.1, Bhuj 36.7, Amreli 38.6, Gandhinagar 34.8.
