Gandhinagar: Addressing the PDPU convocation in Gandhinagar, Reliance Industries Limited(RIL) Chairman and Managing Director(CMD) Mukesh Ambani todsay told students that he strongly believes humanity will see more progress in the next 20 years than it has in the last 200 years.

Ambani who is one of founders of PDPU in his convocation address said: “When you graduate and enter the real world, people will now look upt to you for answers. But remember, it is not just the answers but sometimes the questions that are more important. For example when you ask a question which has no answers currently, you are laying the basis for innovation. Your actions will be limited by your imagination. And imagination is what makes us human. It is what fuels desire, purpose, invention and innovation, and when you chase a dream, however audacious , you should never be discouraged because in the world that you will enter. The world that will be driven by digitization and technology, nothing is impossible. Sometime it will be easier to accomplish the dreams that look impossible only yesterday. Don’t get me wrong, accomplishing a dream will require more hard work and sacrifice than you can imagine. But I have the confidence that you can do it. The reason why accomplishing these larger than life dreams is easier because in the next 20 years, technology, particularly digitization of the world is enabling us to solve many problems that were unresolved earlier. I strongly believe that humanity will see more progress in the next twenty years than it has in the last 200 years, and that is an opportunity for each and everyone of you. The world is waiting for you, step out and take the plunge. Fail if necessary but always in pursuit of your dream, in pursuit of making them real and when you fail that’s only a moment of learning. because I am sure in the end you will succeed.”

Mukesh Ambani asked students to applause for their parents whose sacrifice made their entry to stage possible today in convocation function.

Speaking in this function, union Human Resource Development(HRD) minister Prakash Javdekar congratulated Mukesh Ambani and PDPU for executing four-year course at PDPU. He said even government is not able to do this at Delhi University. You will not have to fight for international avenues due to four years course.

Javdekar said, youths who have spark or are intelligent are running after IT or technology. This is not good. If there are not good teachers for history, geography, humanities that’s not good.

Javdekar congratulated Mukesh Ambani for Rs 119 crore contribution to research. He said it is good that here the institute funds research projects of students.

PTI report: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani today said he strongly believes that in the next 20 years humanity will see more progress than in the last century due to technology and digitisation.

“Sometimes it will be actually easier to accomplish the dream you thought were impossible only yesterday. Don’t take me wrongly, as it will require more hard work and dedication,” Ambani said.He was addressing the convocation ceremony of Reliance Industries-run Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) here.

“The reason for realisation of these impossible dreams is because in next 20 years technology, particularly digitisation, will solve many problems that have remained unresolved.

“I strongly believe that in the next 20 years humanity will see more progress than in the last 100,” Ambani said, adding that it will be a great opportunity for students graduating now.

Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar and Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani were also present on the occasion.

While addressing students, Javadekar said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has given importance to innovation and started many schemes so that innovation gets a boost in the country.

“We have got such a Prime Minister in the country who says that India will progress only by innovation and research.

“When he says ‘Make In India’, that is not just manufacturing in India. He is telling our intellectual students to innovate, he is telling investors to invest. So come innovate, invest, manufacture and sell made in India goods with pride,” Javadekar said.
