Those spreading lies should apologise to Gujarat:Narendra Modi
Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 26th of September, 2008
After clean chit given by Justice Nanavati and Mehta commission, Narendra Modi in his speech at Ahmedabad’s Maninagar area, on Friday evening attacked those liars who spread falsehood on Godhra episode and defamed Gujarat for last six years.
“They the pseudo secularists continued to defame us for last six years constantly. I kept silence and tolerated all the false allegations with passions, waiting for truth to come out. Now when the Nanavati commission report is tabled in assembly, Congress and others, who had spread lies, should apologies to the people of Gujarat,” Said Narendra Modi speaking at public function to inaugurate Pandit Din Dayal Upadhyay’s statue.
Criticizing Congress stand on Nanavati report, Modi said “Those who speak untruth and spread falsehoods are afraid of truth. Liars could demand a discussion on report but when truth was out in assembly, Congress MLAs walked out of the house. They should have a faith in constitution and judicial system. Nanavati commission was not appointed by me Narendra Modi, it was appointed by Supreme court of India.”
On the appointment of the Justice UC Banerjee Committee by the Union Railway Ministry lead by Lalu Prasad Yadav, Modi said the committee was appointed only to serve the political interests of the railway minister. “However, the Bihar electorate was not convinced and voted against him.”
