Ahmedabad traffic police hikes towing charge

Ahmedabad: City traffic police in Ahmedabad has increased towing charges. According to a press release issued by police towing charges for two-wheeler will be Rs 250, three-wheeler Rs 350, four-wheeler Rs 500 and other heavy vehicle Rs 1,000. If towed vehicle is not released within 48 hours, Rs 100 per day charge will be collected for two-three-four wheeler while Rs 200 per day charge will be collected for other heavy vehicle. Police operate towing cranes under motor vehicle act section 127(1) and (2) and collect fine and charge under section 127(3).
