After incidents of fire in Tata Neno car in Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Delhi and Mumbai, another incident in the series was noticed today.

The latest incident took place in Gujarat’s Anand-Nadiad National Highway no. 8 near Boriavi when a fleet of about dozen Nano cars was being driven from Ahmedabad’s Cargo Motors to a dealer Miles Motors in Vadodara’s Makarpura area and one of the cars caught fire.

Car driver, Raju Thakore, noticed the fire in the rear-view mirror after which he stopped the car on the roadside and contacted fire brigade officials, who reached the spot around 3.30 pm. Thakore is safe.

The reason behind the first three cases of fire involving Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Delhi incidents has been described by Tata Motors as short-circuiting switch on the steering column.

The case in Mumbai in which car was burnt on the move just after 45 minutes of its purchase is to be investigated separately.
