Congress aims to mobilise 2 lakh crowd for Rahul Gandhi’s Dediapada rally

Bharuch: Gujarat Congress is expecting to gather 2 lakh crowd for party’s national vice president Rahul Gandhi’s rally at Dediapada in Central Gujarat. The catchment areas for this rally are tribal dominated belts of Central and Southern Gujarat districts of Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Chhota Udepur, Tapi, Dang and Valsad.

Three tents, each of 800 by 25 ft size are being erected with total 35,000 chairs at APMC ground in Dediapada for Rahul’s rally which is scheduled to take place on 1st of May.

Four air conditioning plants each having 8.5 tonne size, 100 flood lights, 40 LED screens, 2 lakh cold water pouches, 1 lakh nashta kits are some of the highlights of this rally for which new helipad has been constructed at market yard.

There are large number of tribals in South Gujarat who are converted to Christian faith by various missionaries active here. Congress party has fielded its Christian leader Oscar Fernandes to get into contact with missionaries and Christian organizations to mobilise large number of converted Christians to Rahul Gandi’s public meeting. Oscar Fernandes arrived here on Friday. Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel who belongs to Central Gujarat is going to arrive late in the evening on Saturday to supervise and review the preparations.

Among those involved in preparations and ensuring full crowd are APMC president Jatarbhai Vasava, vice chairman Devjibhai Vasava, local sarpanch Rakeshbhai Vasava, deputy sarpanch Prakash Vasava, former local MLA Amarsinh Vasava, former MLA of Rajpipla PD Vasava, Nandod taluka panchayat president Jatin Vasava, Haresh Vasava, district panchayat member Jayanti Vasava, public works committee chairman Dinesh Tadvi, Dr Gambhirsinh and others.
