Ahmdabad: A team of Guinness book of world record today handed over the certificate of world record of highest people taking Yoga lesson at single place.

‘It has been a great pleasure to witness the largest Yoga lesson at single and multiple venues today in Ahmedabad. The city of Delhi had created a record in 2015 with 30,989 people attending Yoga lesson at single venue on same time. Ahmedabad has today broken that record with presence of 54,522 people taking Yoga lesson at single venue,’ a representative of Guinness book of world record told media persons in presence of Chief Minister Rupani and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev in capital Gandhinagar today.

Guinness team handed over a certificate of record to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev in Gandhinagar.

The text of certificate was: ‘The largest yoga lesson was achieved by the Department of Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities, Government of Gujarat, Patanjali Yogpeeth and taught by Yog Rishi Swami Ramdev Ji Maharaj(all India) at the AES Ground in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India on 21 June 2017.’

The Guinness team had five persons deployed on Yoga grounds. They were assisted by many volunteers.

Baba Ramdev said the team was still collecting the figures of attendance at five venues of Yoga event across Ahmedabad. Ramdev said, once the figures are collected, another world record of Yoga lesson at multiple locations in one city will be officially announced.

Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said Yoga lessons displayed by Baba Ramdev would help to achieve Swasth Gujarat along with Samruddh Gujarat and Swachch Gujarat.
