PM to lay the foundation stone of International level airport in Rajkot: CM

Rajkot: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani addressed the businessmen and industrialists during the GST/FTA seminar at the Pramukhswami Auditorium in Rajkot and said that the state government is firm in its resolve to ensure the development of Rajkot. He also said that we are trying to ensure that the Prime Minister lays the foundation stone of the airport in the upcoming days.

The seminar which was jointly organized with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Commerce of the Central Government and Rajkot Foreign Trade Office and Chamber of Commerce wherein investors and leading businessmen were given details by experts regarding Foreign Trade Agreement, Vibrant Gujarat, Start Up India, Stand Up India and various other government initiatives. During the seminar, Mr. Rupani honored 31 businessmen who had a revenue between Rs. 150 crores to Rs. 2500 crores in exports.

Mr. Rupani said that a new airport will be made at Rajkot at a cost of Rs. 3000 crores and we are trying our best so that our Prime Minster lays the foundation stone for the same. A modern day bus terminus has also been allocated to Rajkot wherein there will be world class facilities. Along with that, a new racecourse shall also be made in the city. Moreover, the government is making efforts to see that AIIMS and a container depot are built in Rajkot.

Mr. Rupani said that an approval has been given to build a Convention Centre with 5000 seating capacity in Rajkot for which a sum of Rs.10 crores has been allocated. The government shall also lay down and implement new policies to enable the building up of industries for exports and MSME and coastal industries.

MP Mr. Mohanbhai Kundariya, MLA’s Mr. Govindbhai Patel, Mrs. Bhavanaben Babariya, President of Chamber of Commerce Mr. Shivlal Baarsiya, Secretary Mr. Vaishnav, Mr. Parth Ganatra, Mr. Gupta from Fiona, Director of the Ministry of Commerce Mr. Menon, Mayor Mr. Jaimanbhai Upadhyay, Mr. Dhansukhbhai Bhanderi, Mr. Nitinbhai Bhardwaj, Collector Mr. Vikrant Pandey were present on the occasion. The overall management of the program had been done by the Deputy Director of the Foreign Trade Office Mr. Suvidh Shah.
