Botad
Probably under pressure of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti(PAAS), Congress has replaced its earlier declared candidate Manhar Patel with DM Patel on Botad seat. PAAS convener Dilip Sabva was eyeing Congress ticket to contest from this seat. Both Manhar Patel and DM Patel filed nominations from Congress in Botad assembly seat. Meanwhile BJP candidate Saurabh Patel filed his nomination form in Botad with a long bike rally. In another development, PAAS convener Dilip Sabva has filed nomination form as independent.

BJP’s Arjan Kanjaria has filed nomination as rebel on Dwarka assembly seat against party’s candidate and sitting MLA Pabubha Manek.
Jetpur
BJP candidate from Jetpur seat and cabinet minister Jayesh Radadia in reply to question pertaining to his rival candidate from Congress said the candidate is newer and he will not be able to defeat the BJP. It should be mentioned that Congress has fielded Khodaldham Trustee Ravi Ambalia against Jayesh Radadia. Khodaldham is temple of Supreme Goddess of Leuva Patels.
Varachha
PAAS leader Vijay Mangukiya has filed nomination form to contest from NCP on Varachha seat. Mangukiya if touch the chord of voters can potentially cut Congress candidate Dhiru Gajera’s votes.

Rebel Congress leader Paresh Kachhadiya will contest as independent from Kamrej seat. Kachhadiya is president of Congress party in ward number 15.
Jambusar
Shankersinh Vaghela’s confidant and former minister Khumansinh Vansiya has filed nomination as independent on Jambusar seat of Bharuch district in Central Gujarat.
Morbi
Morbi district panchayat Karobari committee chairman and Congress leader Kishor Chikhalia has filed nomination from Maliya seat as independent. Chikhalia reached collector office to file nomination with his 200 supporters. Chikhalia’s candidature may damage votes of Congress candidate Brijesh Merja.
Bharatsinh Solanki
State Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki today left for Delhi, probably to discuss ticket distribution for the second phase of Gujarat election involving North and Central Gujarat regions. Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming Gujarat visit on 24-25 November will also be discussed in this meeting. Last minute compromise with NCP could also be in agenda of today’s meeting.
Navsari
BJP today released fourth list of candidates. The list had only one name which was Piyush Desai for Navsari seat. This was the only seat in first phase which was not declared by party yet. In related development former minister Kanjibhai Patel who wanted his son Sunil to contest from this seat has resigned from party. Kanjibhai was sulking even during last Lok Sabha election for denial of ticket to him by party. Kajibhai’s son Sunil has now filed candidature from Gandevi seat.
Jalalpor
Dharmesh Patel, district Congress general secretary of Navsari has filed nomination form as independent from Jalalpor seat. Patel was sulking following denial of ticket by party.

Jamalpur-Khadia
Unending internal fights over ticket allocations are going on in Congress. In latest development, seven Muslim Councillors of AMC elected on Congress ticket reach Rajasthan Bhavan in Delhi to meet Gujarat Congress incharge Ashok Gehlot, seeking denial of ticket to Sabir Kabliwala on Jamalpur-Khadia seat. Jamalpur-Khadia is one seat that has over 60% Muslim voters. In 2012, BJP candidate Bhushan Bhatt won this seat due to rebel by Muslim Chhipa community candidate and former MLA Sabie Kabliwala. Vertical division of votes between two Muslim candidates catered victory to BJP candidate on plate.
Hardik Patel
PAAS leader Hardik Patel continues to remain incommunicado. After cancelling public meeting in Rajkot and press conference there earlier, now Hardik has canceled today’s press conference. There’s no word from Hardik on secret formula of quota discussed with Congress, on PAAS convener contesting from Congress in Dhoraji, on tangle with Congress over seats.
Surat
Earlier announced Congress candidate for Kamrej seat, Nilesh Kumbhani said he would file nomination even after he was replaced with Ashok Jirawala yesterday in fresh list announced by Congress. Kumbhani says he had party mandate. Jirawala too was on way to file nomination today in procession. This is exactly the situation that was seen in Rajkot rural seat yesterday.
Bhavnagar
Patch up with Dansinh Mori in Bhavnagar is big relief for Jitubhai Vaghani who is state BJP chief and candidate from here. Dansinh Mori was up against Jitu Vaghani over some land related issue and police case. Mori belongs to Karadiya Rajput community which has sizable presence in Saurashtra. The issue enlarged to Rajput community level. A huge gathering of Rajputs was organized subsequently targeting Jitu Vaghani. Effigies of Vaghani were also burnt and call was given not to give vote to Vaghani or BJP. After intervention by party leaders, compromise was arrived at initially but it couldn’t sustain long. Today Mori was on the stage in Bhavnagar and he declared support to Vaghani and BJP in presence of Amit Shah and others. Mori told media persons that amicable solution was arrived and he had no more complain against Vaghani.
