Ahmedabad:

Patidar caste hardliner group SPG leader Lalji Patel today gave a bandh call in Mahesana on January 1 to protest against the alleged injustice with a senior patidar leader and DyCM Nitin Patel by ruling BJP.

Patel after meeting Nitin Patel at his Thaltej residence here told newsmen that Nitinbhai should have been made CM for his contribution to the party but he has been sidelined by the BJP high-command.

‘The Patidars have already shown their power in the election by reducing BJP to 99 and even after that the party continues to insult senior Patidar leaders and angering the remaining members of the community who had supported the ruling party. We have given a bandh call in Mahesana on January 1 to express our anger. BJP has hurt our sentiments,’ he said.

Notably Nitin Patel represents Mahesana assembly segment in the district which is a well know hub of Patidars in Gujarat.
