Surat to get Rs 606 crore 90 metre outer ring road in SUDA area: Gujarat government

Surat: The city of Surat will get a 90-metre outer ring road in Surat Urban Development Authority(SUDA) area at a cost of around Rs 606 crore.
The ring road will be developed as high density corridor, for which 11 town planning schemes are planned in 2,669 hectare area.
This decision was taken in a high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in state capital Gandhinagar today.
The Chief Minister approved the project and directed the Municipal Commissioner of Surat and SUDA to start working on the project immediately with March 2019 as target date of completion.
It should be mentioned here that a 27 km long 90 metre wide ring road will in first phase 42 metre wide with 6 lanes and service road. The project will involve 22 small bridges, one river bridge over Tapi, two flyovers, 3 railway over bridge, 26 culvert and 5 creek/canal underpass at total cost of Rs 600 crore.
With approval to ring road, Surat city’s years old pending issue has found solution. It will boost further development in Surat and help to resolve the traffic problem.
