Dahej Ghogha Passenger Ferry service not to operate during monsoon

Bhavnagar: Dahej – Ghogha ro ro passenger ferry service which is operated by Gujarat Maritime Board(GMB) and private company Indigo Overseas under Public Private Partnership(PPP) model will not operate during the period of monsoon.
The service was suspended for the period of monsoon with effect from today morning.
Indigo Overseas in its statement said: ‘On Account of monsoon period and GMB monsoon notice, Ferry service is suspended for the monsoon period and shall resume service around middle of September 2018. Advance notice for resume of service shall be given.’
The service is operated across the gulf of Cambay where sea is rough and weather adverse during the period of monsoon. June to September is considered Southwestern monsoon period in Gujarat.
