Gandhinagar: The ruling BJP in Gujarat has asked its woman activist and former close-aide of Congress backed PAAS leader Hardik Patel, Reshma Patel to show restraint in issuing any political statement.
Reshma, who had joined BJP days before assembly elections in Gujarat last year and is seen as an opportunist in the political circles by many, had soon after the results of the assembly elections yesterday had tweeted and issued statements which were highly critical of her own party and were a jibe of sorts on the highest leadership.
BJP spokesperson Bharat Pandya today said that she has been advised to show restraint.
To a query as to whether the party would take any action against her for her hard-hitting remarks, Pandya said that he can’t say anything at this juncture as the state president was not available to take a call on the matter.
Reshma, who had a few days ago also criticized the BJP government for allegedly showing lackadaisical attitude in providing jobs to the family members of those killed in police firing during the state wide violence following the Patidar quota rally here in August 2015, had tweeted , ‘Yah Atmavishwas Ki Haar Nahi Hai, Yah Abhiman Ki Haar Hai. Janta Ka Ek Ek Aansoo Hukumat Ke Liye Khatra Hai, Yah Mat Bhuloo’ (This is not the defeat of self-confidence but this is the drubbing of Arrogance. Each drop of tear of the people was dangerous for the government).
Today also she took a jibe at the top party leadership and said that she did not agree with the theory of wiping out Congress completely.
