Heat wave in parts of Gujarat with Surendranagar seeing highest 45.3°C, Orange alert for Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Heat wave conditions today prevailed in parts of Gujarat even as Surendranagar remained the hottest place across the state at 45.3 °C.
Orange alert was in place in Ahmedabad city too where the maximum at 44.2 °C was over 3 notches above normal.
Some places in the state saw partly cloudy weather under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation lying over South East Rajasthan and Adjoining North Gujarat region and might bring some respite from the scorching heat in coming few days.
The met bulletin has predicted no large change in maximum temperatures in next 48 hours.
Heat wave conditions today prevailed in the isolated pockets in the districts of Saurashtra namely Rajkot, Amreli and Surendranagar.
Among other places with high temperatures today Rajkot saw maximum of 44.5 °C and Gandhinagar 44.5 °C.
