Acharya Dev Vrat takes oath in Sanskrit as Governor of Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Acharya Devvrat today took oath as the 20 the Governor of Gujarat.
Devvrat, who has been transferred from Himachal Pradesh to Gujarat, has replaced O P Kohli.
Former principal of Gurukul in Kurukshetra in Haryana, Devvrat took oath in Sanskrit.He was administered oath of office at Rajbhavan here by the acting Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court Justice Anant S Dave.
A post-graduate in Hindi Devvrat has over three decades of experience in academic and administrative field. He has worked for the dissemination of Indian culture and vedic values across the world and also in the field of girl’s education.
Around 60 year old Devvrat was born in Haryana on January 18, 1959.
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, DyCM Nitin Patel, Assembly Speaker Rajendra Trivedi and other dignitaries were also present in the oath ceremony. His predecessor Kohli was also present.
After taking oath, the new governor along with his better half and other family members visited the historic Sabarmati Ashram of Mahatma Gandhi situated in Ahmedabad.
