Ahmedabad: A meeting of Donald Trump Nagarik Abhinadan Samiti was held today at Circuit house in city. The samiti is headed by City Mayor Bijal Patel. The meeting was attended by Samiti members Mayor Bijal Patel, Ahmedabad West Lok Sabha member Kirit Solanki, Ahmedabad East Lok Sabha member Hasmukh Patel, Gujarat University Vice Chancellor Himanshu Pandya, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) President Durgesh Buch and renown Architect BV Doshi.

Samiti was in news when on February 21, in weekly briefing of External Affairs Ministry, Government of India, Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar mentioned it. Replying a question on Namaste Trum event which is to be held at Motera stadium, Raveesh Kumar told media persons, ‘this is an event which is being organized by Donald Trump Naagrik Abhinandan Samiti. They are the ones who are taking a decision on who to be invited so I think this question should be addressed to them.’
