38,000 students to appear in JEE exams in Gujarat tomorrow: Chudasama

Gandhinagar: 38,167 students will appear in JEE (Joint Entrance Exams) – Main, across 32 buildings in 13 districts of Gujarat from tomorrow for admissions in Engineering and Pharmacy, said Education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama today. The exam will be conducted by National Testing Agency, he added.
He said, a meeting in this regard was held today via video with 13 district collectors. Central government official Virendra Rawat also participated in this meeting. He also expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.
Chudasama said, the State has conducted GUJCET exams and supplementary exams of class 10 and 12 successfully recently. Similarly JEE-NEET exams will also conclude smoothly (NEET exams involving 80,000 students in Gujarat to begin from September 13).
He said social distancing will be maintained, masks will be used, the students will be tested for temperature before their appearance in exam. If temperature is not normal, the student will not be allowed in exam hall and will be given another chance in future. Exam rooms will be sanitized. The students will also clean their hands using sanitizer.
He said, district collectors, DDOs, health and police department staff will be involved to ensure smooth conduct of examinations along with the Education department staff. DeshGujarat
