School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies inaugurated at NFSU

Gandhinagar(Information): Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel here today exuded confidence that the ‘School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies’ at the technologically-equipped National Forensic Science University (NFSU) will provide the human resources of techno legal experts for the nation.
Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijju inaugurated the newly constructed School of Law at a function in presence of Supreme Court Justice M.R. Shah, Gujarat High Court Acting Chief Justice R.M. Chhaya, Gujarat’s Law Minister Rajendra Trivedi, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi, judges of the high court, legal experts, students and invitees.
Speaking at the function, the Chief Minister recalled that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision that this specialised Forensic Sciences University was started in Gujarat in 2009 and within 12 years this university has established its identity in over 70 countries.
He wished the new School will blend Data Science and Law to help legal professional provide evidences during trial, deliver fast justice, and check cybercrime.
The Chief Minister said that several police officers and forensic experts of other countries have been studying here. It was because of Union Home Minister Amit Shah that this university has been accorded the status of institute of national importance.
Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijju called for framing and implementation of new laws with the help of modern technology. He wished the new School would evolve a strong system to check cybercrime and prove useful in imparting knowledge and training in forensic sciences. Many a time justice is delayed due to lack of evidence.
He said the Central Government would provide all assistance to NFSU which is capable of disseminating its expertise to entire India due to its farsighted vision. While judiciary, legislature and executive are necessary for the nation, it is for us to implement the suggestions made by the judiciary.
Gujarat’s Law and Justice Minister Rajendra Trivedi said that while incidence of crime is increasing with technology there is need to upgrade entire system with knowledge and technology. He said this university is running over 20 training centres, providing technology savvy experts to the country.
Supreme Court Justice M. R. Shah said that today’s students are future lawyers and legal advisers. The country needs human resources with knowledge of law and experience which School like this can fulfil.
NFSU Vice-Chancellor J.N. Vyas in his welcome address said this university set up as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision beginning with five programmes is now providing 17 programmes.
This event was also attended by NFSU officers, teachers, domestic and foreign students and invitees.
