Gujarat to see polling for over 10,800 gram panchayats on December 19

Gandhinagar: Polling will take place on 19th December 2021 while counting will be on 21st December for the elections of 10,879 gram-panchayats in Gujarat, the State Election Commission announced today.
Model code of conduct is in force in 10,879 gram-panchayats from today. The polling will take place on Sunday- 19th December through ballot paper from 7 am to 6 pm. Total eligible voters in will be 2 crore 6 lakh 53 thousand, out of whom the male voters are around 1.6 crore and female voters are around 1 crore.
The date of notifications for the election shall be 29th November. The last date for filling candidature forms is 4th December. The date for scrutiny of nomination forms is 6th December and the date for their withdrawal of nominations is 7th December. The date of re-polling (if required) is 20th December.
The gram-panchayat elections are not fought on the symbols of political parties. Though the elected sarpanches might be the supporters of any political party. DeshGujarat
