Gujarat govt proposes to start Air Ambulance Service

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government has made a proposal to the central government for start of air ambulance service in the State, which if materialize will be the first in the country to be started by any government.
It is understood that the old aircraft owned by the State government which was used for the Chief Minister will be used for proposed air ambulance service.
State Civil Aviation Minister Purnesh Modi informed that the fare of proposed air ambulance service will be Rs 50 thousand per hour for the calls from 108 emergency service, Rs 55 thousand per hour for the hospitals, and Rs 60 thousand per hour for an individual person.
Various demands were made to extend the reach of air services in Gujarat in a meeting chaired by Union civil aviation minister Jotiraditya Scindia with the civil aviation ministers of various states in Delhi.
The survey is being carried out after selection of 6 sites for starting sea-plane services in the State, that are Sabarmati riverfront, statue of unity, Palitana Shetrunjee dam reservoice, Saputara lake, Dharoi dam reservoir and Ukai dam reservoir. The demand was also made in the meeting to start a helicopter services for Ahmedabad darshan from the sky.
The proposal was also made in this meeting for land allocation to start of domestic services from Deesa air strip in North Gujarat. Other demands made in the meeting were about building an aviation park at Rajkot greenfield airport, deploying more CISF jawans at the airports in the state and building new cold storage facilities in the state for Krushi Udan project.
