My 100-year old mother hasn’t got booster dose of covid vaccine as she follows the rules : PM Modi

Gandhinagar: Speaking about nation’s success in mega vaccination programme against covid-19 at a campaign rally in Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi today said neither he nor his 100-year old mother breached the order of vaccination programme and got jabbed only when their turn came up as per the rule. The Prime Minister said his 100-year old mother has not taken third vaccine jab (booster dose) because she doesn’t come into the criteria of co-morbidity.

The PM said, ‘and you are witness to it that when vaccination began, Modi himself didn’t rush to get vaccinated first. Health workers, sweepers, elders, comorbid people were given opportunity to get vaccine first. If these parivarwadis were there in the government, they would breach all queues and go first to get vaccinated. I was vaccinated when as per the rule my turn came up. You all must be knowing, my mother is 100-year old. She didn’t breach the order. She got vaccinated when her turn came up as per the rule. At present booster dose vaccination for third dose is underway, but my mother has not got jab because though she is 100-year old, she is no co-morbid. The rules are followed by Prime Minister and his mother too. If these parivarwadis were there (in the rule) they would go for vaccination of their own first and, the common people would be left behind.’
