CCTV cameras to detect stray cattle in Gandhinagar under a new project
May 21, 2022
Gandhinagar: The detection cameras to be installed in Gandhinagar under the Corridor Demonstration Project supported by World Bank (WB) will record the movements of cattles, speed of the vehicles and places of accidents.
The CCTV cameras are already installed on the main roads of the city at present. The drivers passing with overspeed and breaking the traffic rules are penalised with e-memos after tracking them though the CCTV cameras. However, they don’t allow to track cattles, accident sites, and vehicle parking on roads. To resolve this issue, the corridor demonstration project has been implemented as a pilot project.
The wildlife detection, incident detection and speed detection cameras will be installed after conducting survey of accident prone roads. The camera will be operated from the command control center at sector-27 SP office.
