Construction site contractor held for noise pollution in Vadodara

Vadodara: The Bhayli taluka police of Vadodara have arrested a contractor after the granite cutting machine he was using in the residential area was found to be making a noise of 91.2 Decibels as recorded by the Noise Level Monitoring Device.
The home department has procured the device following orders issued by the National Green Tribunal. The device, worth approximately half a crore rupees, has been allotted to the Vadodara police.
The Bhayli police have found violation of noise pollution levels at construction site 44 because of the granite cutting machine that was being used at the site. They have arrested Sanjay Panchamsingh Rajput, the contractor at the site, and booked him for offences under IPC 268, Noise Pollution Act 2000 Rule 5 (1), and Environment Pollution Act.
