Over 1.49 lakh youths get job/apprenticeship letters across Gujarat

Gandhinagar: As per Centre’s periodic labour force survey 2021, Unemployment rate in Gujarat was only 2% – lowest among all states, said principal secretary of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Gujarat Anju Sharma.
She was speaking at a function in which the state government distributed employment appointment letters/ apprenticeship agreements to youths. Over 1.49 lakh youths today received employment appointment letters/ apprenticeship agreements in functions held across 33 districts and 7 municipal corporation areas simultaneously.
Principal secretary of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Gujarat Anju Sharma said while addressing at the function – “I’m happy to tell everyone that in the last 4-5 months, the Employment office, Employers and multiple departments have achieved the heavy task of giving employment to over 1.49 lakh candidates. As per Central Govt’s periodic labour force survey of 2021, the Unemployment rate in Gujarat was only 2%, which was the lowest unemployment rate among all the states.”
“Gujarat has secured the highest ranking among states to give the most employment. Every year more than 3 lakh people receive jobs through the employment department.”, she added.
She said further, “Candidates can apply for the jobs through the Anubandham portal while sitting at home. this portal helps in matching skills, generating profiles and interviewing candidates. With help of this program, we have given more than 2 lakh jobs, and as of today, there are 13,000 jobs available for candidates on the portal.” DeshGujarat
