No attack on Anant Patel ; he himself has created this drama for sympathy ahead of polls : CR Patil

Gandhinagar: Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil today in a reply to a question refuted Congress MLA Anant Patel’s claim that he was attacked by BJP. Patil said Anant Patel is creating drama to get sympathy as his defeat is clear in upcoming elections because of his lack of performance as MLA. Patil said the MLA is not able to find any issue against the government, and doing such drama out of fear of losing the election.

“There has been no attack on Anant Patel. He himself has created this drama and tried to get sympathy. His supporters burned a shop of our district panchayat president Bhikhubhai Ahir, they torched houses and damaged furniture and caused huge losses. Such serious offence would result into seven years imprisonment, and police could even do firing(to control such violent mob), but police forget firing, police even didn’t do lathicharge or tear gas shells lobbing,” said Patil.

He further said – “Anant Patel is clearly seeing his defeat in Vansda and therefore he keeps making such issues. He continued to provoke tribal people over Par – Narmada – Tapi project which has been put aside and announcement on the same has been made by the Chief Minister himself. He has no issue and he fears his defeat and therefore doing such things.”

Vansda Congress MLA Anant Patel had last night claimed that he was attacked by BJP leader Bhikhu Ahir who is the district panchayat president of Navsari. Patel had made his photo with an injury mark near his eye viral and called tribals for road block. His supporters had entered into violent activities and damaged vehicles, a fire fighter and shop. Police had taken his complaint late in the night and assured the probe. District BJP chief Bhuralal Shah was also of the same opinion that Anant Patel created big drama out of a small matter in which he had personal fight with someone that had nothing to do with politics.
