Twitter reacts to Rahul’s Farmer post

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi is on his nation wide Bharat Jodo Yatra amidst the yatra he shared a picture with a Farmer claiming that “while the BJP is collecting money from the farmers who feed the country, Bharat Jodo Yatra is raising the voice of the farmers. We were, are and will be with the farmers.”

Rahul in his tweet shared the  GST rates and calling it ‘Injustice of King’

Reacting to Rahul tweet BJP leader Amit Malviya sahred tweeted that “Under pre-GST regime, various taxes were already applicable on Agricultural items/equipment. In fact, under GST, rate of taxation has reduced for items like fertilizers, irrigation systems, tractors and other machineries”

Malviya also said, “Rahul Gandhi is a pathological liar, who speaks without facts, makes false promises and merely pays lip service to the cause of farmers. Whereas, Modi Govt’s policies have brought real transformation, increased farmer income and ensured broad based welfare of farmers.”

BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala also fact checked Rahul on twitter and said, “As usual fake news peddler is at it again! You are spreading misinformation! After implementation of GST, taxes on equipments used in agriculture, including fertilizers, have all come down.”

“You are crying crocodile tears over farmers here, but what about your promises to Rajasthan farmers? You had promised to waive off loans in 10 days after coming to power, but that hasn’t happened till date. Speak of double standards and fake promises.” he added.

Shehzad also listed out the thing Modi Govt has done for farmers such as :

  • 417% higher budget on Agriculture compared to UPA in first 8 years.
  • 12 crore farmers benefitted from Kisan Samman Nidhi
  • 2.15 lakh crore Fertilizer subsidy
  • Easy and Cheap availability of Credit for farmer

One twitter user wrote that “Gandhi family used farmers only for politics and today Rahul ji is doing the same work. To make the lives of farmers easier, the Modi government has come up with many schemes, due to which there has been a decrease in the cases of farmer suicides in the country as per NCRB data.

Another BJP leader tweeted, “The extent to which the Congress and the Gandhi family are the great benefactors of farmers can be gauged from just one figure. The food purchased by farmers was subsidized  at ₹ 29,426 crore under Congress rule, which has more than doubled to ₹ 60,939 crore under Modi government.”

One more tweeple said “Instead of film dialogues like Raja Injustice and Saath, Rahul Gandhi should save Congress. Rahul Gandhi should take out Congress Bachao Yatra in view of the way Congress leaders are leaving the party. By the way, tell the information of Rahul Gandhi that after GST, the rates on agricultural equipment have come down.”
