Gujarat government announces new Electronics Policy for 2022-28

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today announced a new Electronic Policy for a five-year period of 2022-28. The new policy aims to generate 10 lakh jobs in ESDM sector. Upto 20 per cent maximum capital assistance, 100 per cent relief on stamp duty and registration fee, upto Rs. 10 crore assistance upto 7 per cent interest on five years term loan, upto 50 per cent logistic subsidy on fright charge levied on import, Re. 1 per unit assistance on power tariff, in addition to 100 per cent relief on electricity duty, upto 100 per cent relief on EPF as Atmanirbhar Gujarat Rojgar Sahay – are some of the main highlights of new policy.
Gujarat Electronics Policy 2022-28 aims to manufacture Rs. 30 billion dollar electronics at the State level in order to contribute to Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi’s 300 billion dollar electronics manufacturing target. The new policy also aims to generate 10 lakh jobs by 2028 in ESDM sector. The policy aims to make Gujarat as a national hub of ecosystems for electronics system design and manufacturing. The policy also aims to create a global level ESDM infrastructure facility including new Gujarat Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (GEM).
