Kua khudega toh paani sabko milega : Vedanta Boss on Gujarat – Maharashtra row

Gandhinagar: Anil Agarwal, Vedanta Resources Chairman in an interview to Mint Editor Sruthijith KK explained why the company choose Gujarat over Maharashtra for upcoming ₹1.5-lakh crore semiconductor and display fabrication project.
After the recent controversy between Maharashtra and Gujarat over the Foxconn semiconductor plant, Agarwal asked people to not make it a political issue. He was speaking at Hindustan Times Leadership Summit on Saturday.
Agarwal said that “India is one and let us make the raw material. Kuan khudega toh paani sabko milega. We are just making fundamental raw materials” and the whole ecosystem has to be created.
“Setting up (the plant) in Gujarat has its own challenges. Maharashtra will set up one of the largest downstreams, which will be bigger than Gujarat. This will happen,” said the Vedanta Chief.
Vedanta and Taiwan’s Foxconn will invest $19.5 billion to set up semiconductor and display production plants in Gujarat. This project is likely to brings 1,oo,ooo jobs in Gujarat.
