Bavla police nabs 3 for flying drone near PM’s rally site

Ahmedabad: Bavla police nabbed three people yesterday, as they were flying drone near the site of PM Modi’s public meeting site. PM Modi addressed a public meeting in Bavla yesterday to campaign for Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).

Disputing the rumors of drones being shot down by the laser gun of the National security guard, the local police confirmed that the rally site and its 2km perimeter were declared as a no-fly zone by the District Magistrate through notification.

According to the police, three-person apprehend were Nikul Parmar, Rakesh Bharvad, and Rajesh Prajapati all residents of the Odhav area here in Ahmedabad. After being taken down the drones were checked thoroughly by police. The bomb disposal and detection squad also checked the drones.

It is learnt, that three people nabbed for violating the notification were hired to take pictures and videos. The accused were unaware that the area was a no-fly zone. Now further investigation is going on.

Amit Vasava, Superintend of Police, Ahmedabad rural informed that “No security breach occurred in PM’s rally, 3 people were flying drones form Rajkot- Ahmedabad highway near rally site, they were shooting videos for local party leaders and were unaware that the area was a no-fly zone.”
