Muslims messaging each other to remember 2012 polls and not split vote : Shahi Imam in Ahmedabad
December 03, 2022
Ahmedabad: Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid, Shabbir Ahmed Siddiqui said that Muslims are messaging each other on WhatsApp to remember 2012 assembly elections and not split their vote.
Talking to a media house he said that Muslims are messaging each other on WhatsApp to remember 2012. As in 2012, the votes got split and BJP won in Jamalpur seat. Muslims have one thing in mind that there should not be division of votes and whoever is winning should win, he added.
Talking about the Aam Aadmi Party, Imam said that there is no scope for a third party in Gujarat. Earlier too people came but did not win. What will happen to you if you now harbor animosity toward the Congress as you already have with BJP?
“Even if four-five MLAs of Owaisi win, what will they do in the assembly? Owaisi’s rally in UP were crowded, but when the box was opened it was empty. BJP will form the government whether it wins or loses.” Imam added.
