AMC proposes teaching Bhagwat Gita in Schools

Ahmedabad: The draft budget for 2023-2024 of Ahmedabad municipal corporation (AMC) has proposed the teaching of Bhagwat Gita in Schools.
The budget presented by the school committee before the AMC school board on Wednesday has a provision of Rs. 10 lakh for the writing and recital of Gita shlokas in schools.
Nothing that Gita is the mainstay of all ideological perspectives in the country. The provision to teach Bhagavad Gita is aimed at developing the understanding of students about India’s philosophy from a young age.
According to the draft budget, there is a proposal to spend Rs 1,071 crore on primary education in municipal schools in Ahmedabad. A total of 469 schools are operated by the municipal school board, which has 4,105 teachers and 1.66 lakh students. DeshGujarat
